Too much

I do too much thinking in this attic, the brain constantly whirring and whirling. I keep making connections and realising things from way way back. Be not afeared, this is not about to become a confession of long ago abuse by someone or other. But things I should have been aware of have taken me many years to wake up to.

I go around wide eyed, making eye contact, being so aware of people's feelings, aware of what is often unspoken, but I do not make obvious connections. I used to go to parties and upon walking in to the room (a nervous wreck) I would be instantly aware of tensions and longings in the room and later my husband would be amazed as he hadn't noticed anything. Why then was I so aware of others and not aware of my own life?

The brain is an odd thing.

ID Cards

So now Howard wants us to have an ID card. We already have a driver's licence (many of us) and of course there is the tax number which goes on absolutely everything. We are tracked and tracked again. Look at what you have to provide to get a bank account and as wages and pensions are all paid to bank accounts, you have to have a bank account. And the computers talk to each other.

We probably all have ASIO files. Phillip Adams talked about his today in the Weekend Australian and I think I probably have one from activities as a young journalist.

There is no privacy. Everywhere we see privacy codes, everyone has one, but is there privacy? A centralised data bank for medical files. I can just imagine what will happen then. With brilliant hackers nothing is safe and as for putting all data in one place! Every home computer person has back-up. I am paranoid and have four lots of back-up and the way computers crash around me this is good thinking.

I get so depressed by the state of Australia, by the state of the world. Those in power have no compassion, those of us without power are fuelled with anger at the unfairness in the world. CEO's with disgusting incomes, shareholders, little people, who lose everything because of the greedy people at the top who go mad, they think they own the world.

Totally depressing

Have decided to make this blog totally depressing. I go through life putting on a happy face etc. and am basically a happy person and love life, but I dampen down my anger and hide any depressions. This blog will help me to get rid of any unhappy feelings.

I really cannot stand the thought of any human or any animal being hurt in any way. The other day a little gecko was dying on the floor and I was upset that my animals might make his dying fearful so carefully put him under a cupboard. People who casually hurt animals are beyond contempt. Should I mention the Howard now? What he has done with refugees in Australia is beyond disgusting, and he calls himself a Christian. The humiliation those refugees go through, being behind razor wire, even small children being imprisoned in such a way, should never have happened. Every now and then, when my feelings begin to swamp me, I pretend Howard is giving a speech at somewhere important and suddenly his clothing vanishes and he is wearing a pink tutu. And everyone laughs hysterically. Somehow this makes me feel better.
